How We Create Change
Red Bloom is a movement creating change by weaving together health, education, innovation, and advocacy so that every girl blooms.
Why We Exist
What if you had to miss school or work because you didn’t have menstrual supplies? What if no one ever taught you about menstruation or, worse, made you feel ashamed? This is Period Poverty. And it affects more than 500 million women and girls worldwide.
Health & Well-being
Dignity starts with care. Our programs ensure girls have the knowledge, support, and resources to manage their health with confidence.
- Regular Health Screenings for menstrual and general well-being, with referrals to trusted clinics.
- Herbal & Nutrition Gardens growing aloe vera, ginger, and vegetables, blending traditional wisdom with modern health.
- Protective Liners & Comfort Solutions to reduce the fear of stains and support period-friendly uniforms.
- Mental Health Support through safe spaces, peer circles, and trauma-informed mentorship.
Education & Awareness
Knowledge transforms shame into pride. We equip schools and communities with the tools to break silence and build confidence.
- Comprehensive Menstrual Health & SRHR Education for girls, boys, teachers, and parents.
- Creative Storytelling through theatre, film, music, and art to shift stigma into celebration.
- Hair Advocacy that reclaims African heritage as a source of identity and self-worth.
- Community Dialogues that bring parents, elders, and leaders into open, supportive conversations.
Infrastructure & Innovation
Every girl deserves safe, private, and sustainable facilities. We innovate to make schools menstrual-friendly and eco-conscious.
- Dignified WASH Facilities — gender-sensitive toilets, handwashing stations, and changing rooms.
- Biodegradable & Reusable Products like eco-pads from banana fiber, plus emergency pad-making training.
- Circular Innovation that reduces plastic waste and builds climate-friendly menstrual solutions.
- Digital & Creative Platforms including Red Bloom Clubs and multimedia campaigns.
Empowerment & Advocacy
Periods are a justice issue. We empower communities to own solutions and advocate for systemic change.
- Economic Empowerment through cooperatives, farming, textile crafts, and pad production hubs.
- Male Engagement, encouraging fathers, brothers, and boys to become allies.
- Policy & Advocacy to embed menstrual equity in national systems.
- Youth Leadership & Alumni Networks of certified Red Bloom champions.
