Our Story
Red Bloom was born from a simple yet powerful belief: no girl should miss school or lose her potential because of her period.
More Than a Period
Our journey began with listening. We listened to girls who used unsafe materials or stayed home from school each month. We listened to mothers who shared stories of what their grandmothers used, connecting the past to the present.
These lessons show that menstruation is a shared legacy, a defining part of womanhood. This is why we don't just distribute pads; we create spaces for choice, independence, and intergenerational conversation. We're building stronger families and communities, together.
We don’t just give pads, we teach choice and independence. Girls learn to make emergency pads from recyclable materials, explore tampons, reusable pads, and menstrual cups, and learn the history of menstrual care from their mothers, grandmothers, and ancestors.
Menstrual health isn’t just about girls. It’s about households and futures. Families join in economic activities like pottery, painting, and traditional arts. Women are trained and employed, and we grow cotton, sisal, and bananas together.
Film is one of our most powerful tools. We use it to document and amplify girls’ questions and voices, spark dialogue in schools and communities, and inspire creativity and new career paths.
